Parent-Child Workshops go to the Esteban Vicente Show

Currently Marquis Studios is providing Esteban Vicente specific arts residencies to the children of PS 170 in the Bronx. As part of these residencies our organization has been conducting parent/child workshops in an effort to recognize partnerships with families as an integral part of the learning process. In recent workshops Marquis Studios has taken 55 parents and 80 children to visit the Esteban Vicente show, Concrete Improvisations, at NYU’s Grey Gallery. After the gallery tour both parents and children worked with teaching artists to make collages in the style of Vicente which were then hung on the walls of the school cafeteria. Through this program students and parents to connect what they learn in the program directly to a larger arts community.
