Marquis Studios receives generous grant from the Emily Davie and Joseph S. Kornfeld Foundation!
Marquis Studios is excited to announce that we have received a generous grant from the Emily Davie and Joseph S. Kornfeld Foundation! This contribution consists of $10,000 for budget relief in addition to a $60,000 grant to help fund our pARTnership program over the next two years. The twelve year-old pARTnership program provides arts education for the students in six New York City public schools throughout the city. Together with the Kornfeld foundation we are transforming learning environments by making art a substantial and consistent part of students’ educational experience!
This grant reflects our contributors’ appreciation of the austerity efforts undertaken by Marquis Studios to maintain services to the children in our community through the recent economic recession. The Kornfeld foundation has now joined the National Endowment for the Arts who provided Marquis Studios with stimulus funds to support threatened staff positions during the downturn. We would like to thank the Kornfeld Foundation, and indeed all of our supporters, for helping us create schools where the arts are centrally important both in themselves and as tools to promote academic success and emotional growth among students.
