• We provide a core curriculum program consisting of a ten-week arts residency taught by our staff of fully trained teaching artists.
• The focal point of our full spectrum of residencies is to foster student exploration of the visual arts, theater, music, dance, architecture, circus arts and puppetry.
• Our teaching artists custom-design program curriculum to meet the educational goals set by the school through collaboration between the Marquis team and each school’s classroom teachers. All our programs comply with New York State Learning Standards, both in the arts and in academic areas.
• Each year, we lead a multitude of workshops in Professional Development for classroom teachers, providing them with techniques and concepts so they can better integrate the arts into the academic curriculum.
• We promote parent/child participation through sponsoring as many as 45 workshops each school year. In these workshops, parents learn the importance of the arts to their child’s educational experience and provide them with a new set of meaningful activities to use at home with their children.
