GarageBand © (grades 5-12)

GarageBand © is an Apple based software program for music composition.  The GarageBand © workshop is a hands-on way that introduces students to basic music concepts in a fun and easy way. Students hear the results immediately and quickly engage in creative thinking, exploring how to express their thoughts and emotions through music.
They learn to arrange and mix down their music and at the end of the workshop CDs are made, with the students’ music creations, for them to take home. This program can have a class-wide concept or theme that is introduced or brainstormed at the beginning of the workshop, or it can be of free creation. The residency can include elements of song writing in the composition.

We require a minimum of 1 computer or I-Pad (must be a Macintosh with OSX) for every 2 students. GarageBand © is a free program and is normally already installed on Apple products.
