Creating Professional Partnerships Across the World
Monday, August 1, 2016, 1:30-2:15
How do organizations decide where and when to pursue partnerships, especially when potential partners are located internationally? In this workshop and conversation, participants will look at a partnership between Marquis Studios/VSA-NYC and Arts for All Initiative in Sudan. Participants will explore the process of building a partnership with a community abroad and the potential benefits and challenges. Participants will devise their own strategies to respond to a community call within their own context.
About VSA Intersections
The VSA Intersections: Arts and Special Education Conference provides professionals in the intersecting fields of arts education and special education the opportunity to share current information in research, practice, programs and policy, and serve as a leading catalyst for change. The conference brings together educators, administrators, researchers, teaching artists, and more to build new skills, transfer knowledge, network, and, ultimately, help to shape the best practices-improving educational experiences for students with disabilities learning in and through the arts. The first VSA Intersections took place in 2013, and 2016 is the first time VSA Intersections has traveled outside Washington, D.C.
