Working as an administrator, evaluator and teaching artist, Alan Nunez has collaborated with various Lincoln Center institutions, including City Opera, Juilliard and the New York Philharmonic. He was selected to be a Fellow at the New York State Council on the Arts’ Empire State Partnership Summer Seminar for 2008 and 2009. Currently, Alan is working with various schools and organizations, particularly Marquis Studios, with whom he works with elementary and high school students in special needs classrooms. In addition, he is a digital media teaching artist, having provided professional development for ArtsWestchester, the New York City Department of Education and the New York and New Jersey State Councils on the Arts. When not in schools, Alan divides his time between being a certified barbecue judge and competitor with his team, Garden State Porkway and his music with his taiko organization – Boundless Percussion. He created Boundless Percussion to break down the walls of distance, circumstances and learning styles in musical performance, combining his passion for music and digital media.
