Amy Beth Schneider teaches creative movement and dance in various forms. She graduated from Oberlin College and then studied modern dance, ballet, improvisation, and composition for four consecutive summers at the American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina. After graduating from Oberlin, she lived in Durham for two years and performed with various choreographers while serving as an active member of Choreo Collective as well as a member of the dance faculty in the Wake County Public School system. She moved to New York City in 2000 and in 2002 founded Thread Dance Theater as a performance and production enterprise. Simultaneously, she developed her teaching skills with a variety of organizations including Marquis Studios and populations in New York City schools.
