Larry Jackson received his B.F.A. in Illustration and Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (NYC). He has undertaken innumerable creative endeavors as varied as being the Prop Designer for TV productions, to working an in-house designer of holiday season window displays in NYC for the likes of Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord and Taylor, to helping Joni Mitchell mount her latest visual art exhibit in 2009. A trained carpenter and gifted teacher, he has stated a belief in the mantra “teaching art is learning art”. Larry has taught all age groups, including teachers and parents, as well as whole educational staffs. Larry creates custom-made workshops tailored to encourage the imagination and reward ideas. The students are engaged and taught not only how to communicate, but the “why” of communication: in order to attain the set goals necessary to creating their projects. Larry has been teaching Architecture residencies for Marquis Studios since 2003, and is continually expanding his repertoire in order to teach other disciplines within the Visual Arts.
