Susan Gonzalez, Marquis Studios Facilitating Artist served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Kornfeld Foundation; Susan Newman from The Harriet & Esteban Vicente Foundation; Virginia Keim from The Foundling; Barbara Joseph, Deputy Superintendent of District 75; Ricardo Rodriguez, Marquis Studios’ Board member; Former P37R Principal Florence Gorsky; Alexa Fairchild, Arts for Diverse Learners Program Manager at the Office of Arts & Special Projects, New York City Department of Education and P37R CO-PTA Presidents, Annmarie Donato & Sue Pugliese spoke about impact of the arts on the lives of their children and the newly appointed Principal of P37R, Deborah Evans gave an inspiring speech about equity, access and the arts.

“Equity and Access to the ARTS for Special Education Students accentuates their abilities,” said newly appointed P37R Principal Deborah Evans.

Marquis Studios looks forward to continuing their partnership and collaboration with Principal Deborah Evans and the P37R community. Deborah Evans said, “Moving forward in the 2018-2019 school year and beyond, P37R is committed and will remain committed to the arts. P37R will be committed in all the ways we can, by all the means that we can and as long as we can. In honoring David Marquis’ legacy, we are humbled and proud to be formally named The David Marquis School of the Arts.”

Marquis Studios’ mission is to inspire a passion for learning by bringing the arts to schools. Marquis Studios’ dedicated Board and staff continue the great work of founder and former Executive Director David Marquis by ensuring that every student has an authentic and exciting arts experience.
