Marquis Studios is a nonprofit arts and education organization based in New York City, dedicated to enriching learning by bringing arts programs into underserved schools. Through partnerships with local schools and skilled teaching artists, Marquis Studios provides inclusive, creative, and curriculum-aligned art experiences across visual arts, theater, music, dance, and more. Its mission focuses on inspiring lifelong learning and creative expression, with special attention to inclusive programming for students with disabilities and schools in high-need areas.
Marquis Studios is seeking an experienced and creative Communications & Marketing Manager to implement our communications and marketing strategy, build brand awareness, and drive community engagement and donor growth. This role will oversee Marquis Studios social media and email marketing operations, including content creation for multiple platforms. The Communication & Marketing Manager will collaborate with staff and other stakeholders to develop integrated marketing campaigns to promote Marquis Studios’ mission and increase donor support. A successful candidate is a creative, detail-oriented, tech-savvy self-starter with a passion for arts in education. We are looking for a candidate with experience in content creation and analytics and demonstrated skills working in: Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Vimeo.
● Content Creation: Oversee creation of content across social media, email, website, and other digital platforms to engage and inspire our audiences. Collaborate with staff to collect assets that strengthen our messaging. Estimated workload includes 3-5social media posts per week and 1-2 email campaigns per month, with additional content surrounding annual and seasonal events.
● Brand Management: Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity across all communications, aligning with Marquis Studios’ brand.
● Campaigns & Fundraising: Collaborate with the Development team to plan and implement annual and seasonal fundraising campaigns.
● Digital Marketing: Manage digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and website. Analyze and report on performance to optimize engagement.
● Press & Communications: Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts to secure press coverage that highlights Marquis Studios’ mission, programs, and events. Draft press releases, media pitches, and manage inbound press inquiries.
● Events: Support the promotion of events, both online and in person, to increase visibility, attendance, and donor engagement.
● 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or arts organization
● Demonstrated fluency in most of the platforms and applications referenced above and the motivation and technical know-how to quickly learn how to master a new program as needed.
● Strong writing skills; experience creating content for various digital platforms
● Graphic design, photography, and video editing experience is a plus.
● Familiarity with donor engagement and fundraising strategies is a plus.
● Experience in Webflow is a plus.
● Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and manage multiple projects independently

Start Date: As soon as possible.
End Date: 6/30/2025 with the possibility of extension.
Salary: $27 - $32/hour(commensurate with experience); 15 hours/week
Location: The Communications &Marketing Manager is a hybrid position. Applicants must also be able to travel to NYC school sites on select occasions.
