Laura Grotenstein

Development Manager

As the Development Manager, Laura is responsible for overseeing donor relations, managing fundraising initiatives and developing strategic plans to raise funds for Marquis Studios programs. She actively researches grant opportunities and manages all foundation and corporate grant applications and reports. She oversees individual and corporate gifts, plans an annual appeal campaign, and writes annual appeal letters and quarterly development newsletters.

Born and raised in New York City, Laura is passionate about making the arts accessible to everyone. She attended Reed College in Portland, OR, where she received a B.A. in Studio Art. Laura has worked with a number of organizations throughout the city, which has given her firsthand experience in the positive effects of the arts. She first joined Marquis Studios as an intern in 2015, and worked as a member of the Operations team before taking on the role of Development Manager. She currently lives in Astoria where she enjoys cooking and taking naps with her cat.
